Applications open for $20,000 4-H scholarship

Four categories are available for members to enter

Senior 4-H youth members could earn a $20,000 scholarship from Leadership Excellence Awards of Distinction (L.E.A.D.).

The L.E.A.D. awards recognize outstanding 4-H’ers who epitomize 4-H youth empowerment, have gained critical life skills through their 4-H experience, and who have positively impacted their community.

There are four categories: community engagement & communications; environment & healthy living; science & technology; and sustainable agriculture & food security.

Each category offers a $20,000 scholarship for higher education ($5,000 annually for four years); an all-expenses-paid trip to the 4-H Canada Members Forum in Regina in November; and the opportunity to be paired with an industry mentor who is an expert in their chosen category.

Applicants must be at least 16, a current 4-H member, and in their final year of high school. The application deadline is July 3. For more info, visit the 4-H Canada website or contact Sue Wood at 1-844-759-1013 (ext. 25) or by email.
