The organization representing pesticide makers has a new online tool to help minimize herbicide resistance on farms.

Three out of five Canadian growers are now dealing with herbicide-resistant weeds, Paul Hoekstra, a senior official at Syngenta and chair of CropLife Canada’s resistance management committee, said in a news release.

Manage Resistance Now promotes using a combination of cultural, mechanical, biological, and chemical control measures. The website details best management practices, and has videos and case studies of growers, crop advisers and researchers sharing their experiences with resistance.

The website is currently focused on herbicide resistance, but will be adding sections on fungicide and insecticide resistance in the near future, CropLife said.
