The second phase of the Livestock Welfare Engagement Project is getting underway.
There has been strong participation in an online survey, said Alberta Farm Animal Care, which is facilitating the initiative requested by Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. The province wants a better understanding of the “animal welfare landscape.”
The second phase will involve five focus groups in Fairview (Sept. 20 at Grande Prairie Regional College), Lethbridge (Sept. 25 at Lethbridge College), Olds (Oct. 2 at Olds College), Edmonton (Oct. 10 at the University of Alberta), and Vermilion (Oct. 25 at Lakeland College).
To participate in a focus group or to take the survey (which is open until Oct. 31), go to the Alberta Farm Animal Care website.
