Nominations for the Agriculture Hall of Fame are now open.
The award honours those who have significantly contributed to agriculture, the agri-food industry and rural life in Alberta.
“Every two years, Alberta’s Agriculture Hall of Fame recognizes up to three individuals whose outstanding leadership, innovation and business practices have advanced Alberta’s agriculture and food industry at the provincial level or beyond,” said Colin Gosselin, acting manager with the hall of fame.
Since 1951, 135 people who have been innovators and risk takers in every area of agriculture have been inducted into the hall. Their accomplishments have ranged from groundbreaking farming techniques to scientific accomplishments, creating value-added products and other outstanding contributions that have had a lasting, positive impact on agriculture and rural Alberta.
Nomination forms and more information can be found at alberta.ca or by calling 780-968-6557. The nomination deadline is May 15.
