Big numbers for charity golf tourney

Eleven hundred golfers, nearly 500 sponsors, and 25 years add up to more than $1.8 million raised for charities and organizations in the Lethbridge and surrounding communities.

The latest Richardson Charity Golf Classic, held earlier this month, again brought together Richardson International Limited’s suppliers and partners from across North America to raise funds for charities and organizations in southern Alberta. This year’s charity recipients include The Friends of the Coalhurst Elementary School Society, the Lethbridge Military Unit Senate Association, Woods Homes, and the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen. Over the years, the event has supported 65 charities.

“The Richardson Charity Golf Classic has been a success thanks to the outstanding support and continued generosity of our many sponsors and golfers,” Pat Van Osch, a senior vice-president with the company, said in a press release.

The company’s oilseed division is one of the largest employers in Lethbridge.
