Albertans account for half of 16 people in the 2017-18 Cattlemen’s Young Leaders program.

The program provides mentoring; a $2,000 travel budget to attend meetings and events; and industry-specific training for young producers between the ages of 18 and 35.

Judges selected the final 16 from 24 semifinalists who gathered at an event in Calgary last month and they participated in roundtable discussions on specific themes.

The Albertans chosen for the program are Ashely Gaudet, Matt Kumlin, Ben Wilson, Lee Creech, James Jenkins, Melissa Lee, Cale Toews, and Lacey McCrae.
