Breeding animals include horses raised for meat or PMU, beef cattle, bison, elk, deer, llamas, sheep or goats that were bred, or used for breeding, grazed on lands within the primary drought area in 2009, and were in the herd as of January 1, 2010.

Horses are eligible for compensation of $60 per head, beef cattle and bison $50, elk $25, deer and llamas $12. 50 per head, and sheep, goats and alpacas $10 per head.
