A new program is offering to help farm and agribusiness employers as well as food processors with the cost of pandemic-related training and equipment.
The Agriculture Training Support Program “is intended to offset costs for COVID-19 safety and training, including the costs for personal protective equipment and to remove any barriers to get Albertans safely working.”
The joint federal-provincial program will pay up to $2,000 per worker (to a maximum of $50,000 per employer). Money from the $5-million program will be given out on “a first-come, first-served basis.”
The program is being administered by Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. More information can be found at cap.alberta.ca.
