The search is on for the cream of the crop – Alberta’s best – for the Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame.
Nominations are now being accepted to honour individuals who have made significant contributions to Alberta’s agriculture and agri-food industry. Every second year, Alberta’s Agriculture Hall of Fame recognizes up to three Albertans who have shown outstanding leadership, innovation and best business practices that have advanced Alberta’s agriculture and food industry at the highest community, provincial, national or international level.
Since 1951, the hall has acknowledged those who have demonstrated innovative farming techniques, scientific accomplishments, created new value-added products and made other outstanding rural development contributions that have had a lasting, positive impact on agriculture.
There are currently 120 members of the Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame – men and women who have dedicated their lives to agriculture and their rural communities. The 2010 inductees will be honoured in Edmonton in October at a celebration dinner.
