Viterra has added herbicide to its list of branded offerings for Prairie farmers. It plans to launch a Group 1 fenoxaprop herbicide, WildCat, exclusively through its outlets as a grassy weed control option for spring wheat, durum and barley growers.
The product, registered for use only on the Prairies, has “numerous” tank mix options for multiple weed control in one pass, the company said.
WildCat has a “variable rate” that can be used for lighter infestations of wild oats or just to control green foxtail. As well, it offers “exceptional” control of barnyardgrass.
WildCat, originally registered by Bayer CropScience, “is a solid performer and one of several new products we will be launching for 2009 backed by the strength of the Viterra brand,” said Doug Wonnacott, Viterra’s senior vice-president of agri-products, in a company release.
