RUSSIA WILL EXPORT THIS YEAR

Reading Time: < 1 minute

REUTERS</ Russia may be able to export around 20 million tonnes of grain in the current 2010/11 crop year (July-June) even if a severe drought slashes output, the president of the Russian Grain Union said last week. Arkady Zlochevsky said crops have been lost on nine million hectares out of some 48 million sown this year. However with record carryover stocks of 24 million tonnes and exports of 20 million, Russia will still have sufficient stocks of 12 million tonnes at the start of the next season.
