Canadian dollar and business outlook

WINNIPEG, April 25 The Canadian dollar held steady against its US counterpart on Monday, as crude oil prices sat flat in early activity.

At 8:38 a.m. CDT, the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7891 or C$1.2673 which compares with Friday’s North American close of US$0.7892, or C$1.2671.

New York Mercantile crude oil futures had gained US$0.14 to sit at US$43.87 a barrel, as of 8:38 CDT.

There was no significant economic data released by Statistics Canada on Monday.

The TSX was stronger in early activity, up 40.45 points at 8:38 a.m. CDT to sit at 13,833.55.
