Winnipeg, January 26 – The Canadian dollar was slightly weaker compared to its US counterpart Thursday morning, tracking losses in gold and other metals.
The loonie may also have been undergoing a correction after hitting a one-week high.
At 8:59 CST Thursday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7640 or C$1.3089 which compares with Wednesday’s North American close of US$0.7653 or C$1.3067.
At 8:59 CST Thursday morning, the TSX was down 10.74 points, or 0.07%, at 15,633.10.
Gains in crude oil helped offset some of the weakness in other sectors.
