WINNIPEG, March 24 (CNS Canada) The Canadian dollar was holding steady Friday morning, as the latest inflation data was deemed neutral.
At 8:57 CDT Friday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7490 or C$1.3351 which compares with Thursday’s North American close of US$0.7490 or C$1.3351.
Canada’s Consumer Price Index increased by 2.0 per cent on an annual basis in February, according to Statistics Canada. That was down slightly from the 2.1 per cent growth posted the previous month.
Core inflation was up 1.3 per cent in February, which compares with 1.5 per cent growth the previous month.
Crude oil was up slightly Friday morning.
The TSX was up by 25.05 points at 8:57 CDT to sit at 15,458.66.
