June 27 – The TSX fell today, weighed down by tech sector declines of 2.4 per cent. The fall came in the wake of a sell-off in United States tech shares, which was sparked by recent high stock valuations and news that Google had been hit with a US$2.7 billion fine.

The S&P/TSX index closed down 34.80 points at 15,281.22 with seven of the index’s 10 main sectors ending the day lower.

Energy stocks countered the trend, rising .7 per cent, pushed higher by oil prices. Brent crude rose 82 cents to US$46.65 per barrel.
