Canadian Dollar and Business Outlook: Loonie still rising

WINNIPEG – The Canadian dollar was higher on Friday morning, reaching a level unseen in two months.

The loonie was at US$0.7499 or US$1=C$1.3335, up from US$0.7486 or US$1=C$1.3359 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the United States Dollar Index reversed direction, gaining 0.25 of a point at 101.26.

Crude oil prices were higher on Friday morning. Brent crude oil advanced US$0.40 to US$86.49 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) added US$0.43 at US$82.59/barrel.

The TSX/S&P Composite Index climbed 55.55 points to 20,620.04.

Gold tumbled US$17.70 per ounce to US$2,037.60.
