Glacier FarmMedia — The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

  • An Israeli attack on Gaza reportedly killed at least 50 people on Friday, as Qatari’s prime minister was due to meet with officials from the United States.
  • The Canadian government has unveiled a list of five “nation-building” projects for the newly created Major Projects Office to look at. The infrastructure plans include an expansion to the Port of Montreal and Phase two of LNG Canada in B.C. — doubling production of liquefied natural gas.
  • A suspect in the death of U.S. right-wing activist is reportedly in police custody. President Donald Trump made the claim while speaking to Fox News. Separate media reports say the suspect is a 22-year-old from Utah. FBI and Utah police are expected to provide an update on the investigation later Friday morning.
  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture will release updated supply/demand estimates later Friday morning, with average trade guesses calling for small cuts to the country’s large soybean and corn production prospects.
