Many soybean growers often roll their fields before planting so that they can harvest as many of the low-hanging pods as possible later in the season. At Manitoba Ag Days in January, University of Manitoba researcher Kristen MacMillan delivered a presentation on at what point soybean plants are irreparably damaged by rolling once they’ve emerged. So far, MacMillan’s two years of data shows promising results. Also, MacMillan shares her research on what soybean growers can do if iron deficiency chlorosis (IDC) is a problem in their fields.
