REUTERS Hot weather and scorching sunshine in past weeks may have caused last-minute damage to the European Union’s rapeseed crop and supplies in the new season will be tighter than previously expected, analysts said last week. “Rapeseed crop prospects in the EU havedeteriorated,”German oilseeds analyst Oil World said. “Recent hot and dry weather has created crop stress.” Oil World estimates the EU rapeseed crop will fall to 20.44 million tonnes this summer, down from 21.60 million tonnes.
