Widespread rainfall drenched Brazil’s main soy states over the weekend ending Nov. 1, easing concern over the effects of La Nińa in the grain-rich centre-west area. “Everybody is more relaxed now,” Celso Oliveira, a Somar meteorologist, said. “I know because nobody is calling me. When the producers are worried about the rains arriving, they are asking daily about the forecast.” He said the ample rains that fell broadly over Brazil’s main centre-south had triggered widespread planting across the soy belt. “They (producers) are all out in the field planting. Their concerns have passed for now,” he said. – Reuters
