Nufarm to provide Valtera
STAFF – Valent Canada Inc. has named Nufarm Agriculture Inc. its sales agent for Valtera herbicide.
Effective immediately, Nufarm will be responsible for all sales, shipping and billing of Valtera in Canada. Pricing and programming are already launched for 2011 and will not change as a result of this agreement.
Valtera is a pre-emergence residual herbicide launched in 2009 that offers soybean growers broad-spectrum weed control, Nufarm says. Valtera plays an important role in total weed management programs by contributing effective control of many broadleaf weeds such as Eastern black nightshade, lamb’s-quarters and pigweeds – including Group 2 and triazine- resistant biotypes.

Cellulosic ethanol becoming reality
Novozymes and partner M&G have broken ground on the world’s first commercial- scale cellulosic ethanol plant in Crescentino, Italy.
The 50-million-litre plant designed to produce ethanol from biomass crops such as wheat straw, corn stover, municipal waste, or energy crops, could be in production by 2012. “With this state-of- the-art facility, M&G proves there is a cure for the world’s addiction to fossil fuels. Biofuel made from lignocellulosic biomass is no longer a distant pipe-dream,” said Novozyme spokesman Poul Ruben Andersen.
