Alberta’s Kim McConnell was one of three Canadians inducted into the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame at an awards banquet in Toronto Nov. 4.

Other inductees included Bertrand Boisclair, a prominent Holstein breeder from Saint-Samuel-de-Horton, Quebec, and Barry Wilson, a long-time national correspondent in Ottawa for the Western Producer.

McConnell is the co-founder and former chief executive officer of AdFarm, one of the largest and most respected agricultural marketing firms in North America with its head office in Calgary.

McConnell was one of the first to recognize that agricultural marketing and communications is a specialized business that must evolve to meet industry and consumer challenges and opportunities. He says a key passion is to be a catalyst for agriculture and to enhance the perception of agriculture with stakeholders, media and the general public, in particular, urban consumers.
