Community and volunteer groups located in French and English linguistic minority communities are encouraged to consider applying for Farm Credit Canada’s Expression Fund.

The fund gives grants of between $2,000 and $10,000  for initiatives such as community centres, schools, daycare centres and artistic projects, such as theatrical productions, art galleries, and concerts.

Last year, the Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta régionale de Saint-Paul received $7,000 towards renovations of the community hall for a daycare and to purchase French resources and materials for the daycare. Two years ago, Comité Culturel de St-Isidore received $3,000 for renovations and expansion of the community hall in the hamlet just east of Peace River.

FCC gives out $50,000 annually from the fund. Applications will be accepted until Feb. 3 and the applicant must be a registered charity or a registered non-profit. For more information and to apply online, go to fcc.ca/expressionfund.
