Winnipeg, Nov 13. – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on Friday morning, November 13.
– According to a release from the Indian government, the state of Delhi and four of its neighboring states have seized about 35,700 tonnes of pulse crops from merchants suspected of hoarding supplies. Just over 4,600 tonnes has been auctioned off.
– Rising food prices are being felt in India. The country’s annual consumer price inflation index increased to 5.0 percent in October. That is the third straight month the index has risen and compares to 4.4 a month ago. Lentils are one of the foods that have reportedly been hit the hardest.
