Winnipeg, October 25 – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on October 25.
– More legume acres are needed in Australia, according to research out of the country, in order to improve soil conditions and reduce fertiliser use. Legumes make up about eight per cent of the country’s agriculture, reports say, and doubling that number could help with soil nitrogen.

– International field pea markets have held relatively strong and steady throughout October, according to reports out of Panama on Tuesday. However, exports are expected to have been slightly lower on the month.

– Western Canadian spot prices for feed peas range from C$3.40 to C$6.38 per bushel, Prairie Ag Hotwire said on Tuesday.

– Western Canadian spot prices for navy beans are about 41 Canadian cents per pound, according to data from Prairie Ag Hotwire on Tuesday.
