Pulses: SK pulse harvest variable

Winnipeg, October 27 – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on October 27.

– As of October 24, about 97 per cent of lentils, 100 per cent of peas, and 25 per cent of chickpeas had been combined in Saskatchewan, according to the latest crop report from Saskatchewan Agriculture.

– Indian government agencies have bought about 34,500 tonnes of moong and urad dals (lentils) from farmers, according to reports out of the country, in order to create stockpiles.

– Western Canadian spot prices for green peas range from C$7.25 to C$8.00 per bushel, Prairie Ag Hotwire said on Thursday.

– Western Canadian spot prices for all grades of Richlea lentils range from C$0.26 to C$0.48 per pound, Prairie Ag Hotwire said on Thursday.
