Winnipeg, October 31 – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world pulse markets on Monday, October 31.
– A record soybean harvest is predicted for Ontario. According to data from Farm Credit Canada, a new provincial record of 50 bushels an acre is possible.
– Rainy weather in the late summer and fall seriously delayed some of the chickpea harvest in parts of Saskatchewan. According to the province’s weekly crop report, a lot of fieldwork is at a standstill.
– According to the Hindu Business Line, prices for dried pulses in central India are mostly holding steady. Some prices have softened however due to a lack of demand or because some split pulses have grown slightly stale.
– Navy beans are currently attracting prices of 42 cents (CDN) per pound at elevators across Western Canada, according to the Prairie Ag Hotwire. The same beans are going for 42 cents (CDN) per pound in Michigan and 38 cents (CDN) per pound in North Dakota.
