Winnipeg, November 30 – Eston #1 and Richlea #1 lentil bids inched upwards between yesterday (Nov. 29) and today. Bids for Estons rose one cent to 65 cents per bushel, according to the Prairie Ag Hotwire. Richleas also rose one cent on the highs to 56 cents per bushel.
Cranberry beans in Western Canada were half a penny stronger overnight according to the hotwire with bids topping out at 49 cents per pound.
Kabuli chickpeas are also holding firm with prices for large calibre (10mm) varieties coming in at 64 to 65 cents per pound.
Argentina has exported 6,274 tonnes of peas in November so far, according to government figures. That is 32% higher than the same time last year. Brazil and India were the two largest purchasers of the supplies.
The massive lentil crop in Australia is putting pressure on prices, according to a report by The Ararat Advertiser. The article said prices fell AU$40 per tonne last week compared to the week previous. Volatility has also crept into Australia’s fababean and field pea markets too.
