Pulses: French pea exports fall

Winnipeg, May 15 – Bids for crimson number one lentils on the Prairies rose half a cent according to the latest information from the Prairie Ag Hotwire. They are now in a range of 23 to 27 cents per pound.
Kabuli chickpeas (9mm) dipped two cents in the last few days and are now priced at 64 to 66 cents per pound.
Yellow peas lost 10 cents per pound and are now in a range of C$7.77 to C$9.60 per bushel.
Pea exports from France dropped in March, according to a report on statpub.com. Export shipments during the month totalled 10,405 tonnes, which compares 40,655 tonnes shipped the previous month. Belgium was the main destination for the shipments.
According to a report from The Hindu Business Line, the Indian government is topping up its national buffer stock pf 20,000 tonnes of pulse. In the next 12 to 15 months the stocks will get liquidated and then replenished once again.
