Brigid Rivoire has returned to the executive director’s desk at the Canadian Federation of Agriculture after over a year away.
Rivoire, who had moved in October 2006 to a new post as executive director of the Canadian Child Care Federation in Ottawa after five and a half years with the CFA, returns to replace Justin To.
The CFA, the umbrella farm organization representing provincial general farm groups and national commodity groups, didn’t elaborate on To’s departure in its announcement Tuesday, other than to say the position of executive director “came vacant again in December, 2007.”
“With the momentum we have gained through the excellent work done by outgoing director Justin To, I know Brigid will help take this organization even further in the years to come,” said CFA president Bob Friesen, a southwestern Manitoba farmer, in Tuesday’s release.
Rivoire first took the post of executive director at the CFA in February 2001, and had previously worked for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada for over 10 years.
