The Ontario Cattle Feeders’ Association has packed a “buy local” promotion into a 72-foot trailer and is taking it on the road.
The association, supported in part by $60,000 from the Ontario Market Investment program, last week launched its new “There’s No Taste Like Home” mobile educational trailer to promote Ontario food and farmers.
The trailer, outfitted with a full kitchen, will host cooking demonstrations and tasting opportunities at industry, community and school events across the province.
“This project pushes our marketing efforts to a whole new level by giving consumers the opportunity to taste and enjoy the local foods our sectors are promoting,” OCFA executive director Jim Clark said in a provincial government release.
The province noted its four-year market investment program has put up over $3 million for 63 various “buy local” projects to date.
