Canadian dollar and business outlook

WINNIPEG, April 26 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was holding steady Wednesday morning.

At 9:01 a.m. CDT Wednesday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7339 or US$1=C$1.3626, which compares with Tuesday’s close of US$0.7341 or US$1=C$1.3623.

The Bank of Canada is set to release the minutes of its latest monetary policy meetings later in the day and investors will be reading closely for signs of any future rate adjustments.

Crude oil was weaker Wednesday morning, with West Texas Intermediate down by 1.3 per cent at US$76.09 per barrel.

The TSX was holding steady, up by only 4.65 points at 9:01 CDT, trading at 20,444.52 points.
