The loonie was at US$0.7167 or US$1=C$1.3953 as of 8:32 a.m. CDT, compared to Monday’s close at US$0.7166 or US$1=C$1.3955.
The United States Dollar Index continued to strengthen, rising 0.41 of a point at 98.51.
Crude oil prices were down on Tuesday, days after OPEC+ decided on a smaller increase to November output than anticipated by the trade.
Brent crude oil cut US$0.45 per barrel at US$65.02/barrel. West Texas Intermediate dropped US$0.43 at US$61.26/barrel.
The TSX/S&P Composite Index added 63.26 points at 30,595.14.
Gold surpassed the US$4,000 per ounce mark for the first time today, rising by US$29.10 at US$4,005.40.
