Canadian Financial Close: C$ weakens Friday

WINNIPEG, Aug. 11 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was weaker on Friday.

The Canadian dollar settled at US$0.7439 or US$1=C$1.3443 on Friday, which compares with Thursday’s close of US$0.7458 or US$1=C$1.3409.

West Texas Intermediate was up by 0.37 per cent at US$83.13 per barrel.

The TSX Composite Index was stronger, gaining 64.76 points or 0.32 per cent to close at 20,407.64 points.

 

Canada’s agricultural sector performed as follows:

Buhler Ind.———————-up  $ 0.16    at $  2.28

Linamar Corp.——————–dn  $ 1.77    at $ 70.71

Maple Leaf Foods—————–dn  $ 0.40    at $ 29.90

Nutrien Ltd.———————dn  $ 0.49    at $ 89.44

Ritchie Bros Auctioneers Inc.—-up  $ 0.16    at $ 78.02

Farmers Edge Inc.—————-up  $ 0.005   at $  0.22
