Canadian Financial Close: Loonie higher with crude oil

WINNIPEG – The Canadian dollar made another gain on Tuesday supported by rising crude oil prices.

The loonie closed at US$0.7375 or US$1=C$1.3560, compared to US$0.7363 or US$1=C$1.3581 on Monday.

The U.S. Dollar Index was up 0.17 of a point at 104.74.

Brent crude oil rose US$1.49 at US$92.13 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) jumped US$1.60 at US$88.89/barrel.

The TSX/S&P Composite Index added 40.32 points to 20,223.08.

Gold fell US$11.50 at US$1,935.70 per ounce.
