Bayer CropScience will roll out a new broadleaf/grass herbicide combo, the iPak, for sale at independent retailers in Western Canada during the coming growing season.
The company announced Tuesday that it will package its new broadleaf herbicide, the bromoxynil/pyrasulfotole combo Infinity (Groups 6 and 27, respectively), with Syngenta’s Group 1 grass herbicide Horizon 240 EC under the “Infinity iPak” name.
An Infinity iPak will include a 6.7-litre container of Infinity, 1.84 litres of Horizon and 6.4 litres of Score adjuvant, which could cover 20 acres, the company said in a release Tuesday.

The tank mix is only approved for use in the three Prairie provinces and the Peace River region of B.C., as is the tank mix for Infinity with Bayer’s Puma 120 Super, the company notes on its web site.
Bayer said the Infinity/Horizon tank mix combines control of at least 18 major broadleaf weeds, including Group 2-resistant kochia, cleavers and wild buckwheat, with a “proven and popular grass herbicide” to control green foxtail and wild oats.
Bayer announced Infinity last summer, billing its active ingredient pyrasulfotole as the first new mode of action on broadleaf weeds in 20 years.
