The Canadian Young Farmers’ Forum has signed a three-year deal in which Monsanto Canada will put up cash and in-kind support for leadership and training programs for young farmers.
The CYFF is a professional development group for farmers between ages 18 and 40 to provide a forum for information, consolidate young farmer opinion, and offer leadership training and advice to farmers starting to establish themselves in the industry.
CYFF president Chris Kletke said in a release Tuesday that the agreement with Monsanto “not only shows the importance they place on young farmers but shows their interest in what the CYFF has to offer. I am certain this cooperative effort will prove beneficial to both parties.”
The group’s annual general meeting runs Feb. 25 to 28, 2008 at Ottawa’s Delta Hotel.
