Quoted basis levels ranged from between C$29.20 to C$55.60/tonne above the futures when using the grain company methodology of quoting the basis as the difference between the U.S. dollar denominated futures and the Canadian dollar cash bids.

Currency adjusted basis levels ranged from US$19.50 to US$38.40 below the futures. If the futures were converted to Canadian dollars, basis levels would be C$14 to C$27.60 below the futures.

The December Chicago soft red contract gained 2.75 cents at US$5.27/bu.

The Canadian dollar lost 0.68 of a cent to close at 71.80 U.S. cents on Sept. 25.
