WINNIPEG, June 10 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Friday, June 10.
– CBOT corn futures were down on Friday, taking some direction from the large losses in wheat. The July contract was down 3.50 cents at US$4.23 per bushel.
– The USDA lowered its forecast for 2016/17 US corn ending stocks by 145 million bushels, taking the projected carryout to 2.08 billion bushels. That compares with the 1.708 billion forecast for 2015/16, which was also revised lower from earlier estimantes.

– World corn ending stocks were forecast at 206.5 million tonnes for 2015/16 and 205.1 million tonnes for 2016/17 by the USDA.
– US corn production for 2016/17 was left unchanged at 14.43 million tonnes by the USDA, which would be up from the 13.60 million tonnes grown the previous year.
– Frost is being monitored in some corn growing regions of Brazil this week, which could cut into the yield prospects for the currently developing crop.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$208 to C$213 per tonne range as of June 6; down by C$2 to C$4 from the previous week, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$232 to C$235 range, which were down by as C$5 from the previous week.
