WINNIPEG, January 25 – The following is a glance at the news moving markets globally.
– Canadian employers had 402,000 job vacancies in the third quarter, and the national job vacancy rate was 2.5 per cent, Statistics Canada said in a report on Tuesday.
Both the overall number of job vacancies and the job vacancy rate in the third quarter were little changed compared with the third quarter of 2015. However, there were notable changes among the provinces and territories.
– Japan’s exports increased for the first time in more than a year in December, according to reports on Wednesday.
Japan’s exports increased by 5.4 per cent year-over-year last month, the first increase in 15 months.
The exports far outpaced analyst expectations.
