Glacier FarmMedia — The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

  • Crude oil prices slipped to their lowest levels in over six months on Tuesday, as optimism over peace talks to end the war between Russia and Ukraine weighed on values. Weak economic data out of China was also bearish for oil. The country’s factory output growth slowed to its lowest level in 15 months.
  • A Canadian delegation including six members of Parliament was denied entry into the West Bank on Tuesday after reportedly declining to sign a form declaring they acknowledge they are a threat to public safety. The 30-member group had been granted electronic travel authorizations by Israel before arriving at the Jordan border crossing, said Stephen Brown of the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) that had delegates in the group.
