- Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s minority Liberal government narrowly survived a confidence motion in the House of Commons on Monday evening. The motion on the government’s budget introduced Nov. 4, passed 170 to 168. The Liberals received support from Green Party leader Elizabeth May, while two New Democrat and two Conservative MPs abstained from voting. Had the Liberals lost, that likely would have triggered a Christmastime federal election.

- The United States Department of Agriculture announced on Tuesday a private sale to China for 792,000 tonnes of 2025/26 soybeans. Prior to today, China bought only 232,000 tonnes of 2025/26 U.S. soybeans following the cancellation 100,000 tonnes. President Donald Trump said China is to buy 12 million tonnes of U.S. soybeans before the New Year plus 25 million tonnes per year for the next three years.
- India reported on Tuesday that its goods exports to the U.S. jumped 14.5 per cent from September to October. The news came as trade talks between India and the U.S. continue. The U.S. slapped 50 per cent tariffs on imports from India on Aug. 27, for the latter buying oil from Russia.
- An outage at Cloudflare led widespread Error 500 messages on Tuesday morning. Cloudflare said in a statement that it has identified the issue but didn’t specify the exact problem. The outage took down Cloudflare Dashboard, API, X (formerly Twitter), numerous multiplayer games, websites, and ChatGPT.
