– North Korea will send a 140-member orchestra to the upcoming Olympics in South Korea, as tensions between the two neighbouring countries continue to show signs of easing. The two Koreas met in the demilitarized zone on Monday.
– Average Canadian home prices rose by 5.7 per cent in 2017, hitting C$496,500 in December, according to a report from the Canadian Real Estate Association. However, the group said the pace was slowing, with the increase skewed by higher prices and volumes in large markets including Toronto and Vancouver.
– The euro hit its strongest levels in three years on Monday, as economic optimism grew and Germany reached an agreement on forming a coalition government.
