- Federal byelections held in four ridings kept to the status quo, with two Liberals and two Conservatives headed to Parliament Hill. The governing Liberals held onto their two seats while the opposition Conservatives kept their two generally safe-haven seats as well. Peoples Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier had hoped to secure a seat for himself in the southern Manitoba riding of Portage-Lisgar but came up short to Conservative Branden Leslie.

- Rescue efforts led by the United States Coast Guard are ongoing in the Atlantic Ocean looking for the missing submersible carrying five people to visit the wreckage of the Titanic. The craft lost contact with its support vessel on Sunday, and it is believed to have enough oxygen to last until Thursday.
- A sixth Palestinian has now died as the result of an Israeli military raid on the West Bank city of Jenin on Monday that had initially killed five. The raid on the Jenin refugee camp included the usage of combat helicopters for the first time in decades.
