- United States President Donald Trump demanded on social media on Sunday that Ukraine give up all hopes of regaining the Crimea and joining NATO. Trump made the comment ahead of today’s meeting in Washington with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plus several European Union leaders. Trump’s demands came after he met one-on-one with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday.

- Business travel within Canada, as well as to and from the country, will be disrupted on Monday as Air Canada flight attendants continue their wildcat strike. The federal government ordered the attendants back to work on Friday, in hopes of resolving the labour dispute. Also, the airline has delayed its third quarter report and annual profit forecast. The Canadian Union of Public Employees said the 10,000 Air Canada attendants are among the lowest paid in the country.
- Reuters reported on Monday that China has purchased 50,000 tonnes of canola from Australia. The sale comes about a week after China imposed a 76 per cent tariff on Canadian canola seed and continues its 100 per cent duties on Canadian canola oil and meal.
- The annual Pro Farmer crop tour begins on Monday and runs to Thursday. Participants will travel through Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio and South Dakota examining soybean and corn crops. Each evening, Pro Farmer will announce the day’s estimates from the two routes.
- IKAR pegged total Russian grain production for 2025/26 at 132 million tonnes, up from the consultancy’s previous call of 103.50 million. Of that, IKAR estimated the Russian wheat crop at 85.50 million tonnes, for a one million-tonne increase. Wheat exports were also raised by one million tonnes at 42.50 million.
