WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 4, 2018 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures
canola contracts were stronger at midday.
Chicago Board of Trade soybean and meal contracts were both
higher, while soyoil contracts were mixed with most lower. Wet
weather in the United States Midwest has been supportive for
soybean contracts as harvest progress has been limited.
Wet and cold weather continues to plague Western Canada,
with snow falling across parts of the provinces over the last
few days. While the weather forecast for the eastern Prairies is
looking good for the weekend, general farming conditions may not
be the best, according to a tweet from World Weather Inc.
The Canadian dollar was weaker today, which was supportive
for the canola market.
About 14,900 canola contracts had traded as of 10:26 CDT.
