Applications are now being accepted for $100,000 in grants from the UFA Rural Communities Foundation.
The foundation announced last year it would be giving away $500,000 over five years for educational, recreational and cultural facilities and programs in rural Alberta.
The 2019 recipients were the Onoway and District Historical Guild ($50,000 for its Heritage Village Project), the Delia School Enhancement Society ($39,000 for its Green Spaces Project), and the Climb Thru Time Museum in Paradise Valley ($11,000).
Groups that are eligible to apply include registered charities, non-profit organizations registered with either their provincial or municipal government, and community service co-operatives. The project must be located within 200 kilometres of a UFA location and must be completed within two years. Application forms are available at www.rcfufa.com, and must be submitted by Aug. 31.
