New dean at Olds College

Amos Ngai is the new dean of Olds College's School of Life Science & Business.

Olds College of Agriculture and Technology has welcomed a new dean for its School of Life Science & Business.

Amos Ngai started in the role November 12. His related experience includes serving as associate dean at Bow Valley College and most recently at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Ngai to our leadership team,” wrote Dalin Bullock, interim vice president, academic, in an Olds College news release.

The new dean is excited to add to the “continued success” of the school.

“Olds College has a great history and is the first choice of students for agricultural-focused education,” wrote Ngai.

“My focus will be to continue that legacy while providing our learners with opportunities to apply their skills in emerging and traditional areas of the agricultural industry.”

Ngai holds a Master of Education Degree specializing in learning technologies and a Bachelor of Geography in Urban Studies. In addition to more than 10 years of post-secondary instructor and administration experience, he has earned a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.

According to the college, the school offers students “endless opportunities for hands-on learning and career development.” It includes the newly-renovated Animal Health Education Centre, the National Meat Training Centre, botanic gardens and wetlands, the Prairie Turfgrass Research Centre and the Canadian Equine Centre of Innovation.
