Ukraine Seeding Delayed

Ukraine s farms have sown 2.09 million hectares for the 2012 winter grain harvest or 26 per cent of the expected area as of September 19 but dry weather is delaying the process, the Agriculture Ministry said. Ukraine sowed 2.37 million hectares for winter grains at the same date in 2010. The ministry also said that farms had almost completed the sowing of winter rapeseed at the area of 853,000 hectares. Farms plan to sow a total of 952,000 hectares for winter rapeseed this year. Reuters
