Aug. 2 (CNS Canada) – The latest Bean Report issued by Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers reports most beans in the province range between R2 and R4 stages of development at the time when the report was carried out in late July.
The R2, or pin bean stage, is noted for pods ½ inch in length at the second or third node at the base of the plant.
Field peas were reportedly at the early stages of dry down
The July 28 to Aug. 1 fababean feed benchmark report released by Saskatchewan Pulse Growers reports prices ranging from C$325.21 per tonne near Red Deer, Alta.; C$306.52 per tonne near Saskatoon; and C$283.81 per tonne near Winnipeg.
The July 28 to Aug. 1 feed pea benchmark reported feed peas selling for C$321.31 per tonne near Red Deer, Alta.; C$293.92 per tonne near Saskatoon and C$261.87 per tonne near Winnipeg.
